ABOUT JO

Joanna (Jo) Turek is a registered psychologist with AHPRA and holds degree qualifications in both psychology and Master of Public Health, Jo has a background within the health and fitness industry and has vested interests within the sport and health psychology space.

Jo has experience in both public and private health systems, with several years experience within private practice working across the lifespan (from 5 years to late adulthood). Jo has a warm, person-centered approach to therapy, and believes the individual is always the true expert in themselves, and therapy is an effective means of discovering their power and autonomy over their thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Jo uses a holistic, evidence-based approach to care and includes a range of therapeutic modalities that are tailored to the person (a blend of ACT, CBT, psychodynamic, IPT, mindfulness, motivational interviewing and even play-based therapy for young children).
