Eating Attitudes Test -26 (EAT-26)

The Eating Attitudes Test-26 (EAT-26) is a widely used screening tool designed to assess symptoms and concerns characteristic of eating disorders. It helps identify individuals at risk for disorders such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and other disordered eating behaviors. The questionnaire consists of 26 self-report items that measure attitudes toward food, eating, and body weight, with responses scored on a six-point Likert scale. A total score of 20 or higher suggests the need for further evaluation by a healthcare professional. The EAT-26 is commonly used in clinical, research, and educational settings to screen for eating-related concerns but is not a diagnostic tool on its own.
